Despite the existence of potential human and executive forces in Iran, unfortunately, industrialization and the use of new technology and materials in residential buildings and the prevention of material wastage, with a very slow process and due to the importance of the construction sector in Iran's economic activities More effective measures need to be taken in this regard. For this purpose, this study was conducted with the aim of identifying and ranking the indicators affecting the waste of materials in residential buildings in Tehran according to the existing theoretical foundations. This research is descriptive in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of method of work and survey and documentary. In order to identify the effective factors, a sample from the community of experts and experts in this industry has been selected by simple random sampling method and The data were collected by distributing a questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS statistical software. The results showed that proper design with a percentage of 74.73% has the greatest effect on the increase in construction waste. After that, the manufacturing industry with a percentage of 71.65% in the second rank, education with an impact percentage of 70.62% in the third rank, financial resources and economic justification with a percentage of 64.83% in the fourth rank and finally save and Warehouses with 63.33% have the least effect of increasing waste.
