Geography and Regional Planning

Geography and Regional Planning (GRP) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Qeshm Higher Education Institute. Guided by a commitment to knowledge excellence and impactful research, GRP serves as a platform for advancing the interdisciplinary sciences of geography, spatial planning, and sustainable development. The journal focuses on critical analyses of urban, rural, and regional challenges within Iran, while also engaging with global discourses on territorial organization, environmental management, socio-spatial justice, and resilient community design. GRP welcomes original scholarly contributions that bridge theoretical insight with practical policy implications, fostering dialogue among geographers, planners, policymakers, and researchers dedicated to shaping more equitable, sustainable, and livable spaces across Iran and beyond.

     Qeshm Higher Education Institute­ with the approach of knowledge excellence and research in order to promote the sciences of planning and sustainable development and analysis of issues of cities, villages, and residential areas of the country, with the permission of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has published the Journal of Geography and Regional Planning, which is published in the 4th year. Based on the vote of the Commission for Reviewing the Validity of the country's scientific journals,   dated 2/27/2012 to letter number 3/53021, Journal of Geography and Regional Planning was recognized as eligible for scientific research.

This journal is published following the Memorandum of Understanding concluded with the scientific cooperation of the Iranian Association of Geopolitics.

Required files to upload: Authors must submit the following five essential files through the manuscript submission system: 1. Main Manuscript File (without the author details and prepared based on the provided template. 2. Title Page, 3. Authorship Form (must include the article title, full names of all authors, and be signed by all authors), 4. Conflicts of Interest Form (must be signed by the Corresponding Author and uploaded with the Main Manuscript File), and 5. Cover Letter (Please include any necessary information in the cover letter).

Necessary care should be taken in completing the authors' profile form in the system. According to the rules, it is not possible at any stage to change the order, number, academic rank and characteristics of the authors and the responsible author (graduate students must first make sure of the rules of their university). Due to the high volume of articles received and the decision of the esteemed editorial board of the journal, please refrain from sending several articles to the journal office simultaneously with co-authors. Also, only one article per year from one author is reviewed and published if accepted.
