Analysis of the effect of limiting and facilitating factors on good urban governance (Case study: New Town of Fooladshahr)

Abstract

Today, good urban governance is seen as an efficient, cost-effective and sustainable approach to urban management. Accordingly, the aim of the present study is to evaluation of emost desirable management model, ranking the indicators of good governance and finally the coefficients of limiting and facilitating factors determination in the management of the new city of Fooladshahr. The present research type is applied and its analysis method is descriptive-analytical.
The data and information required for the research have been collected in two ways: library and field. The geographical area of research is the new city of Fooladshahr. The statistical population of the study includes the population of residents over 15 years of age (11797 people) and the sample size is 375 residents and 50 officials. Sample sizes were selected using Cochran's formula and a simple random method. The results show that among the urban management models, the model of good urban governance from the citizens' point of view with 27.3% and for experts with 30% has been the most desirable model for managing the new city of Fooladshahr. Based on the results of the Friedman rank test, the variables of good urban governance from the perspective of citizens and officials are a good option for urban management of Foolad Shahr. Accordingly, the indicators of legality and community-centeredness have the greatest impact on good urban governance in terms of citizens, respectively, and also the indicators of accountability and legality have the greatest impact on good urban governance, respectively, according to officials.
