Abstract

The BRICS is seen as an economic group of emerging countries that seek to connect economically with most developing countries. In late 2013, Iran announced that it was ready to join the BRICS. China, meanwhile, came up with the BRICS Plus prototype, whose policy was to empower the fledgling group. The plan was to welcome some developing countries to the BRICS. The Islamic Republic of Iran also announced its readiness to join the BRICS. Although in the original BRICS Plus plan, the Islamic Republic of Iran was also considered for membership by BRICS members, including China, but this membership did not happen for various reasons. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the reasons for Iran's failure in BRICS and the advantages and disadvantages that this membership may have. Accordingly, in this article we will answer the question that the membership of the Islamic Republic in the BRICS; What constraints and opportunities does it create for the Islamic Republic of Iran? It seems that the BRICS intends to add new members to its group in the future, and the Islamic Republic of Iran needs to cooperate and interact with the BRICS to further analyze this economic group so that in the meantime it can pursue national interests.
