The purpose of this study is to investigate the social factors affecting the development of championship sport in Semnan province. This research is practical based on the purpose. The methodological approach to the issue is quantitative and the survey method. Sport teachers, sports experts (with a sports degree), sports veterans (with a history of national and international championships) and heads of sports boards in Semnan province have been considered as the statistical population of the study. To calculate the sample size, Morgan's table was used, and the statistical sample of 212 people was obtained. Using the literature and research background, a researcher-made questionnaire was prepared. In order to determine the face and content validity of the questionnaire and the accuracy of the questions, the questionnaire was distributed among 15 experts and specialists in sport management (professors of public, Azad and Payam Noor universities as well as phd. students). SPSS software was used to analyze the data to summarize and classify the raw data. The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between the media factor and the development of championship sport and also the media factor is effective on the development of championship sport in Semnan province. There is a significant positive relationship between the quality-of-life factor and the development of championship sport and also the quality-of-life factor is effective on the development of championship sport in Semnan province. There is a significant positive relationship between social resilience and the development of championship sport, and also the social resilience factor is effective on the development of championship sport in Semnan province. The administrative limitations and lack of cooperation of some of the research samples and their inattention to completing the questionnaire can be considered as the difficulty of the task
