The Investigation of Indigenous Criteria’s Effects of Local Identity on Urban Furniture Planning (Case Study: Julfa Neighborhood of Isfahan)

Abstract

Abstract
    The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of indigenous criteria of local identity on urban furniture planning. Accordingly, the evaluation of main variables of the present study including readability, sense of belonging to the place, religious-ideological elements, and social-physical nodes is to be conducted. The approach dominant on the present study is developmental-applied and the research method is descriptive-analytical. The method of data collection is survey study. To analyze the data, and testing research hypotheses, one sample t-test was used. Data analyses were feasible sing SPSS 22.0 and for drawing maps, Arc GIS was used. The results indicate that indigenous criteria of local identity are effective on urban furniture planning. Readability and the sense of belonging to the place have no significant effects on urban furniture planning. Social-physical nodes, the element of symbols and signs, stamping ground and etc. of the neighborhood have no significant effects on urban furniture planning. Cultural and ideological-religious factors are effective on forming urban furniture.
