Analysis of factors affecting the change in the historical structure of contemporary cities, case study: the historical texture of Khoy city

Abstract
Due to the scattered and disorderly development of cities, the spatial organization pattern of the city and its main structure have changed, leading to the loss of the unified structure in the entire city, unreasonable and inappropriate concentration of facilities and services in different parts of the city, and unequal socio-economic development in them. In Khoy County, like other historical cities in Iran, the main structure of the city consists of squares, bazaars, passages, and gates. However, during the Pahlavi era, after the street constructions of Shariati and Taleghani, these elements lost their role in the main structure of the city, and over time, the main structure of the city became Shariati Street, Saman Maidani Street, and Taleghani Street. Therefore, the purpose of the present study is to analyze the factors affecting the changes in the historical structure of Khoy City, and the research method used is descriptive-analytical. For this purpose, first, questionnaires were filled out among 383 residents of the historical context of Khoy (the sample size was determined using the Cochran method). Using correlation analysis in SPSS software, the hypothesis was analyzed and proven that changes in the spatial structure of Khoy have caused social disorder in the central and historical context of this city (especially on Enghelab Street). Then, the factors affecting changes in the spatial structure of Khoy were examined and these factors were prioritized using the ANP network analysis method.
