One of the most important consequences is the increase in consumption and demand for energy resources. One of these important components of urban planning and design is the physical characteristics of the building, which affects the amount of energy consumption in this important sector, with a share of 40% of total energy consumption in cities. The performance of different typologies of residential complexes in terms of energy consumption in different climates was studied and it is not clear which form and window proportions in each type of residential complex are more appropriate due to their importance in reducing energy consumption and increasing thermal comfort hours. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the hours of thermal discomfort in different types of residential complexes in Kerman with different Fermi proportions and the ratio of window to net wall through simulation with DESIGN BUILDER software, which evaluates the simulation results of complexes. L-shaped dwellings provide more thermal comfort hours than other types of residential complexes. In (L) shaped residential complexes, the most optimal in terms of energy consumption and thermal comfort of residents, residential complex with north-south orientation, Fermi length to width ratio of 1 to 1 and the ratio of window to wall is 60%. The results of this research can be used by architects to determine the optimal type and proportions and the ratio of window to wall surface in designing different models of residential complexes in Kerman region in order to increase energy efficiency.
