The subject of taste in architecture, considering the artistic side of architecture, has always been the focus of architects and philosophers who have looked at a building from the inside and outside of a work of art.what we have witnessed in recent decades is a growing transformation in the taste of users and architects, particularly in residential buildings, which has led to the emergence of different spatial organizations in contemporary homes.The objective of this research is to examine and understand the changes that have occurred in residential architecture and extract the spatial organization characteristics of contemporary new homes over the past few decades, based on the evolving architectural taste, especially from the early 1970s to the late 1990s and even up to the present day in Iran.The factors that have influenced the participation of spatial organization in enhancing the way of life will also be explored.This research adopts a qualitative approach and consists of two parts:the first part is analytical-descriptive,.where data is collected in a library-based manner and using descriptive methods. Concepts and components related to the relationship between taste and architecture are extracted based on sociological, psychological, and interpretive paradigms.The second part is interpretive-historical, where data is collected in a documentary and library-based manner and using descriptive methods.The results obtained from the research identify the spatial organization characteristics of contemporary new homes as follows:"lack of appropriate spatial organization,"elimination of intermediate spaces"neglecting the role of constituent elements of space"importance of finding objects"influence of objects on indoor sounds"and"replacement instead of restoration
