The creative city is one of the new topics in the field of urban studies, which has always been emphasized in reaching the dynamic community and knowledge-based development. Most of the literature written in the field of creative and innovative cities, in addition to the role of creativity in the development of the city, also emphasizes that removing the limitations and barriers (physical, social and cultural, etc.) from Cities, creativity will become the driving force behind the growth of cities, regions and nations. Nowadays, creative development strategies have provided a new way of achieving the unique and first-hand experience of tourism, which contributes to lifestyle changes and identity, and the role of orientation towards participation in local creative economies, in turn, also plays an important role in branding for places. This process involves shifting tourism resources from tangible culture to intangible culture and creativity that has led to the emergence of creative tourism. The purpose of this study is to assess the spatial variables affecting the realization of creative tourism in Mashhad. The research method is descriptive-analytic.
In this regard, the micro-Mac method has been used. The results of this study showed that urban competitiveness, urban branding, strategic planning, quality of life will have the greatest impact on the development of creative tourism in Mashhad metropolis, which should be considered in the development of creative tourism.
