Introduction: Imam Khomeini International Airport (RA) as the most important and most visited airport in the country, considering the airport city master plan approved in the Fifth Development Plan and also the competition with the most visited airports in Dubai and Istanbul, requires the implementation of a set of specific activities and projects in the shortest possible time. This need is especially important due to Iran's geographical location as a connecting point between the East and the West and the effort to attract transit flights in the Middle East sky. The formation and development of an urban area with the special characteristics of an airport city in developing countries, including Iran, will likely have positive consequences in the economic, social and tourism industry fields. Research Objective: Designing airport cities based on current scientific approaches and integrated styles of adapted and indigenous architecture in modern or developing countries; as one of the indicators of development in human societies, has always been and will be the concern of the world's governing bodies and experts. On the other hand, airport cities can have different effects on macro variables such as urban development and the tourism industry. Methodology: This research is considered an applied research, based on its purpose, of the mixed method type (a combination of qualitative and quantitative analyses). A field study was conducted by conducting interviews and distributing questionnaires among experts and specialists of Imam Khomeini Airport.
