The aim of this study is to validate the new system and model for selecting managers of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade based on a competency system with a quantitative approach. In this study, a sample of 160 experts and experts who had the necessary scientific and experimental conditions to answer the questions were selected from the statistical population related to identifying the competency system, including the organizational, individual and strategic competency system of managers in the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran. A Likert scale questionnaire was used to collect data. Structural equation modeling, SMART-PLS software and Sharon entropy method were used to validate and rank variables and present the final model. The research findings showed that eight variables including managerial characteristics, leadership characteristics, mental characteristics, complementary characteristics, personality characteristics, communication skills, value characteristics and specialized characteristics were identified in the competency system for selecting managers in the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade. Based on the ranking results, management characteristics are in first place with 10 questions, specialized characteristics are in second place with 4 questions, leadership characteristics are in third place with 9 questions, personality characteristics are in fourth place with eight questions, mental characteristics are in fifth place with eleven questions, value characteristics are in sixth place with six questions, complementary characteristics are in seventh place with eight questions, and communication skills are in eighth place with six questions.
