Harmonization of domestic labor and social security laws with international conventions is one of the most important tools for achieving decent work, social justice, and effective protection of the labor force in contemporary legal systems. This article adopts a comparative approach to examine the experience of several selected countries in the process of aligning their labor and social security laws with international standards set by the International Labour Organization (ILO), and seeks to extract successful models that can be transferred to Iran's legal system. The research method is descriptive-analytical and based on documentary study. The findings indicate that countries which have succeeded in labor and social security law reforms have typically employed three common strategies: first, the gradual revision of domestic laws based on fundamental and priority conventions; second, strengthening monitoring and reporting mechanisms; and third, linking legal reforms to social dialogue among government, employers, and workers. Based on these findings, the article concludes that the Iranian legal system, by adopting a gradual approach, utilizing specialized institutions, expanding protective coverage, and drawing on comparative experiences, can pursue a more effective path toward alignment with international standards.
