چکیده English

Considering that one of the concerns of man is to think about death. From the distant past to the present, man has established rituals and ceremonies to overcome the fear and anxiety caused by death and its belief, in order to quell his anxieties and continue on this turbulent path of life. The purpose of this research is to review and analyze the anthropological beliefs, customs and rituals related to death and burial. This article was prepared using a qualitative method and through library and document study. Its theoretical framework is based on the theories of Louis Strauss's structuralism, Malinowski's functionalism and Clifford Geertz's interpretivism. In this research, by studying various books and articles and examining the narratives of Henry Masse in the book Iranian Customs and Beliefs and Mahmoud Katiraei in the book Brick to Brick, an anthropological analysis has been presented on the subject of customs and rituals related to death, funerals and burials. And it shows how humans go through the stages of losing their loved ones and say goodbye to them using beliefs, rituals, and ceremonies. And some of these customs and rituals from the distant past to the present day, with slight changes, are still prevalent and have remained in place. And some have been forgotten.
