Abstract
In the contemporary era, migration from rural to urban areas is no longer merely a geographical relocation or a simple reaction to economic deprivation; rather, it has transformed into a multi-layered and complex socio-cultural phenomenon that can reflect regional inequalities, family values, social networks, and generational dynamics within a society. Nevertheless, in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, particularly in the city of Yasuj, the extensive flow of migration from surrounding rural areas has not only altered the city's demographic and spatial structure but has also left profound objective and subjective consequences on the lifeworld of individual migrants and their families. These obstacles and pressures are present not only at the level of macro-development policymaking but also within the everyday layers and lived experiences of the migrants themselves, turning the decision to migrate from a purely economic action into a tension-filled process replete with negotiation with norms, risk assessment, and hope for the future. Accordingly, the present study is designed with the aim of conducting a deep and comprehensive analysis of the "lived experience" of rural migrants residing in Yasuj, so as to offer a rich depiction of the hidden layers of the migration process through exploring their perceptions, emotions, interactions, and strategies. The main focus of the research is on identifying causal conditions (economic deprivation and infrastructure weaknesses), contextual conditions (concentration of facilities in the city and the social structure of the village), intervening conditions (social networks and family motivations), migration and adaptation strategies, and the dual consequences of this
